FLAGSHIP POSTBIOTIC INGREDIENT

Meet VMK223. A postbiotic developed around host biology.

VMK223 is veMico’s proprietary non-viable postbiotic derived from Bifidobacterium breve BB091109. Developed through targeted microbial research, it combines a characterised preparation with laboratory host-response investigations, two published standalone human studies and practical formulation experience.

THE INGREDIENT

Defined origin. Characterised composition.

VMK223 is a proprietary preparation containing exopolysaccharide and microbial cell-wall components. Its composition and production process form the basis for ingredient identity, quality assessment and technical evaluation.

Host-response research

Mechanistic investigations have examined TLR2- and TLR4-associated signalling and related host-response pathways. These laboratory findings do not establish the mechanism behind human trial outcomes.

STANDALONE HUMAN RESEARCH

Published clinical evidence across women's health and skin health.

VMK223 has been evaluated in randomised, placebo-controlled human studies investigating inflammatory and hormonal biomarkers and skin health outcomes. Two standalone studies have been published in peer-reviewed journals. Additional human investigations, including dose-response research, further support the development of VMK223.

STANDALONE VMK223 · 500 MG/DAY · 12 WEEKS

Women's Health — Motei et al., 2023

A 12-week randomised, placebo-controlled study in women demonstrated significant reductions in inflammatory markers, including CRP (5.09 to 3.14 mg/L) and IL-6 (3.92 to 2.81 pg/mL) in the VMK223 group, alongside favourable changes in selected hormonal biomarkers.

STANDALONE VMK223 · 500 MG/DAY · 12 WEEKS

Skin Health — Pipino et al., 2026

A 12-week randomised, placebo-controlled study demonstrated a 28% reduction in wrinkle depth, 28% improvement in skin hydration and 27% improvement in elasticity from baseline.

FORMULATION RELEVANCE

Formulation possibilities without the viability requirement.

As a non-viable preparation, VMK223 does not require maintenance of live microbial viability. It can be evaluated for capsules, powders, sachets and other suitable delivery formats. Available stability data, processing conditions and compatibility need review for each proposed formulation.
