Subtle conceptual scientific background
01 · Standalone VMK223 human trial

Motei et al., 2023 — Inflammatory and endocrine markers

RandomisedDouble-blindPlacebo-controlled500 mg/day VMK22312 weeks40 entered · 30 analysed (20 active, 10 placebo)

Healthy women aged 40–55 received VMK223 or placebo. The study assessed inflammatory biomarkers, with endocrine measures reported as exploratory findings.

CRP5.09 → 3.14mg/L, VMK223

Placebo: 5.10 → 4.78 mg/L

IL-63.92 → 2.81pg/mL, VMK223

Placebo: 4.09 → 3.84 pg/mL

Table 3 week-12 between-group comparisons: CRP p = 0.001; IL-6 p = 0.004.

Lower cortisol and higher oestradiol, estriol and progesterone were reported versus placebo at week 12. DHEA showed an overall treatment-group effect in repeated-measures analysis.

These secondary measures do not establish hormone-balancing effects or benefits for menopausal symptoms.

Interpretation. Controlled biomarker findings from a small, unequal-group trial in healthy women. Multiple endpoints were measured; clinical relevance and reproducibility require further investigation. Receptor activity observed in laboratory assays was not directly established as the cause of human outcomes.

02 · Standalone VMK223 human trial

Pipino et al., 2026 — Instrumental skin appearance

RandomisedDouble-blindPlacebo-controlled500 mg/day VMK22312 weeks34 enrolled · 29 completed (16 active, 13 placebo)

Healthy women aged 40–55 received VMK223 or placebo, with standardised, non-invasive instrumental skin measurements.

Wrinkle depth−28.0%VMK223 · placebo −4.4%
Skin hydration+28.3%VMK223 · placebo +11.0%
Skin elasticity+26.8%VMK223 · placebo +5.8%

Reported between-group comparisons at week 12: p < 0.001 for all three displayed measures.

Interpretation. Instrumentally measured skin outcomes support further evaluation in beauty-from-within formulation development. The trial was relatively small, restricted to healthy women aged 40–55, and did not establish the biological pathway responsible for the observed changes.

03 · Combination-formulation human trial

Beteri et al., 2024 — Metabolic and microbiota outcomes

RandomisedDouble-blindPlacebo-controlled12 weeks53 randomised · 45 completed5 g/day total formulationPostbiotic dose: verify against publication and ingredient records

Adults with prediabetes received a combination of galacto-oligosaccharides, konjac glucomannan and B. breve-derived postbiotic material, or placebo. The 5 g/day value refers to the complete formulation, not the postbiotic alone.

HbA1c6.06% → 5.68%Combination group, baseline → week 12

Week-12 between-group p = 0.03.

Fasting plasma glucose6.56 → 6.01mmol/L, combination group

Week-12 between-group p = 0.06.

Attribution. Outcomes concern the complete multi-ingredient formulation. This trial does not determine the individual effects of VMK223, GOS or glucomannan. It does not establish disease-treatment efficacy for VMK223.
